This or That? {2nd Edition}

Ever hear a song that reminds you of another? This is a friendly comparison of videos and songs with similar genres, concepts and themes.

Ladies' Code Galaxy v. Red Velvet Automatic

Recently, Ladies' Code made a comeback with "Galaxy". I noticed that the stunning visuals in the MV are similar to Red Velvet's Automatic. The aesthetics in both videos include tables of food, black & white classy clothes and members dancing expressionlessly. As for the songs, Galaxy and Automatic both are rather serious with R&b undertones.

My Choice: Both are pretty songs/videos but I prefer the lighter visuals of Galaxy. Ladies' Code focuses on white, while Red Velvet's MV is mainly black.

Playlist 2. I Miss You

Theme: I Miss You/Longing
Songs with a [♥] are my preference/a personal favorite.

1. Mamamoo - I Miss You
Korean
Mamamoo never disappoint. They are in the top-tier of k-pop
girl groups in term of vocals.

Trans. from"我還想念你"
Bii's music has consistently good quality.

Trans. from "会いたくて,会いたくて"Full version *.

Trans. from "아니라고"

 5. SpeXial - Missing You
Mandarin
Trans. from "迷失 in U"

6. 2ne1 - Baby I Miss You

Korean

Trans. From "기억을 따라"

9. 2ne1 - Missing You
Korean
This song is an absolute favorite of mine. 2ne1 doesn't do
ballads often, but when they do, they're far from typical.

Playlist1.(Bonus)

Theme: Love and Hate (Bonus)
Songs with a [♥] are my preference/a personal favorite.

There are some songs that I didn't add to the first list, so here's a small bonus.

Korean
This is one of those songs that starts out with dialogue, then the
melody rolls in.
Japanese
Jasmine is a DJ, and so her early songs are upbeat. Couldn't find any audio
so here's the lyrics to the song.
Korean
A slow, laid back track from "k-pop pop queen" Boa Kwon.
Korean ♥
This outro song features only the vocal line-up of BTS. It has a refreshing
sound and is a good closure for the album

This or That? {1st Edition}

Ever hear a song that reminds you of another? This is a friendly comparison of videos and songs with similar genres, concepts and themes.

Orange Caramel Aing v. Cocosori Dark Circles

Orange Caramel is known for their odd but amusing songs like Aing. It's a sweet bubblegum pop tune about a girl liking a boy. In the MV the girls dance around in plastic cosplay outfits. But new girl Duo Cocosori proves they can be just as weird and charming! The pair dances to "Dark Circle" (also) wearing plastic-y dresses, interacts with a broccoli-man (yes, a broccoli man) and sing about getting bags under their eyes. Both songs are in upbeat trot with kitschy music videos!

My Choice: OC is one of my favorite girl groups,  but i'll have to choose Cocosori!

Playlist 1.Love & Hate

Theme: Love and Hate
Songs with a [♥] are my preference/a personal favorite.

Korean ♥
Rather than the lyrics, the music makes this song. This was the second best song of "Colors".
Korean ♥
This song sounds great in acoustic too.
Mandarin
From what I can tell, this song is very popular and is one of Gem's earlier tracks.
Korean ♥
"Love Song" is perhaps my favorite Big Bang song. The line distribution is seemingly even and every member shines.
Mandarin ♥
Every now and then, I like to listen to a fun obnoxious song to lighten my mood,
Mandarin ♥
A-Mei Zhang has a very clear, crisp voice. I've never payed much attention to her
before this but now I know better,

Korean ♥
This song is so underrated and didn't get much attention. Maybe because the
video is a little creepy?
Korean ♥
I love, love, love Lucky J. The members complement each other so
well. Too bad this is only their second song as of now.
This is one of his older songs, from the early G-Dragon days.
At first listen, the chorus didn't seem the fit, but now I just consider it a
musical plot twist.
A great 2NE1 song. No other explanation needed.
This is song is really good, produced well, nice rap, Not a genre
I typically listen to, but i'll recognize the quality of this
What I really like is the music video. It's movie-ish, The song is okay
too, I could have did without certain things, but still nice.
